It is with great sadness that we announce the CANCELLATION of #RTR2022 on SUNDAY OCTOBER 9.
The safety of our Rotary Ride The Range Riding Family, including our Volunteers, Sponsors, Charity Partners and Supporters is our FIRST PRIORITY.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) forecasts are NOW for rain into Saturday night and early Sunday morning, which means that the ROAD CONDITIONS will be too DANGEROUS to continue.
In particular, the very first-range descent that every rider will encounter will be slippery and extremely dangerous.
We understand that this CANCELLATION may cause great inconvenience for you, and we sincerely apologise.
With planning an outdoor event, the one thing we can’t control is the weather.
The CANCELLATION is in accordance with our Queensland Police and Department of Main Roads Permits for the event.
We know you love to ride, but we also want to keep you safe.
For the last Twelve Years, we are proud to say we have raised over $550,000 for our community.
Your Ride Entry and Jersey purchases make that happen!
We are so disappointed, not only for you our riders but also for our loyal Sponsors, Charity Partners and Supporters, and the many volunteers who have devoted so much time to the planning and organising of this event.
Rotary Ride The Range can only happen because of the commitment of our Supporters and Sponsors. To each and every one, we say thank you.
Rotary Ride The Range is a 100% Charity Bike Ride Event. As you can imagine we have already incurred significant expenses in the lead-up to the ride planned for tomorrow.
COMMUNITY is at the HEART of everything we do, and every decision we make.
Remember, we LOVE to Ride! We also LOVE to Serve!
